  • Trailbuilding (Royalview)
    Starts: 9:00 am
    Ends: February 25, 2012 - 1:00 pm
    Location: Royalview ln, Strongsville
Description: Plans are official…….time to start blazing new trail on Loop #2!

    About our trail days

Typical CAMBA trail days last from 9AM to around 1PM. We start off with the sign-in, then the all-important safety review, then head out on the trail for a few hours. We usually break for lunch around noon. If you can’t show up until later in the morning, or if you need to leave early, that’s fine…….any help is always better than no help at all. Although you can certainly take off anytime during the day, some of the ‘heartier’ trailbuilders may hang around through the afternoon (especially if conditions are nice). But if you can’t make it out for a full day, never a problem - all help is welcome.

If you haven’t built trails before, don’t worry…..we’ll show you everything you need to know. Many of our leaders have participated in 2 or more IMBA Trail Care Clinics, so we have the know-how to do it right, and we’ll be glad to show you. If you don’t have any tools, don’t worry…..we have all the tools you’ll need (and it’s actually where some membership $$ go). If you’re worried about starving on the trail, don’t worry about that either…..we always have lunch covered on full trail days, along with mini Clif Bars to help get things started in the AM (donated by IMBA/Clif Bar).

All we suggest is that you dress in layers (to shed as you warm up). Always wear long pants and long-sleeves (helps prevent poison ivy), some hiking or work boots, work gloves, and bring some fluids to drink (Camelbacks work best).

  • CAMBA Monthly meeting
    Starts: 6:30 pm
    Ends: February 27, 2012 - 9:00 pm
    Location: 5755 Granger Rd
Description: We will be conducting a monthly meeting to discuss CAMBA activities for the year. A “non-public” meeting was held last month with myself and the current leadership of CAMBA which allowed me to meet everyone and review priorities that I felt were important for us to consider. This month we will have a special guest with Andy Williamson who is the new IMBA regional director. IMBA has developed a chapter program linking mountain biking clubs across the nation under one banner and Andy has graciously offered to meet and speak with our group personally about the benefits of CAMBA joining the program. Needless to say, there’s a lot for us to consider and I would encourage all interested members to attend.

The meeting will be held in the basement of an office building in Independence. The address is:

    Date: February 22nd
    Time: 6:30pm
    Location:5755 Granger Road
    Independence, Ohio

Please send me an email if you have any questions at president@camba.us.
